A contractor came out and installed a solar system on Alan Dostal's home — and Alan was so impressed he asked to join the business as a partner. The contractor turned him down. So Alan did the only logical thing: he started his own solar company. That was 1983.

We deliberately stayed a family-run, Tampa-based shop instead of chasing franchise growth, because tenure and care are the whole point.
